MAN takes crown in NZ

PENSKE New Zealand has secured a deal to deliver 36 MAN trucks to TIL Logistics Ltd, one of the kiwi's biggest freight and transport companies.

The purchase comprises of TGS day cabs and TGX XL sleeper cabs in 6x4 and 8x4 configurations with power output ranging between 480 and 540hp. This delivery will bring TIL Logistics' total MAN fleet to about 200 units.

A buy that makes TIL Logistics the largest commercial operator of MAN in Australasia.

"Overall the acceptance of MAN products across the fleet has been extremely positive,” TIL Logistics Ltd managing director Jim Ramsay said.

"Our drivers like the trucks, the fuel economy is a huge plus and I have received many comments about how great the trucks look - which is a big positive for our company image.

"Working with Penske New Zealand is a pleasure. It is an open and ethical organisation to do business with. I appreciate that, as I appreciate the great service and personal attention that we receive.”

Informed by its long-standing relationship with TIL Logistics, Penske New Zealand knew the key factors that would be among the decision makers for the customer.

"We have worked with TIL for several years so we knew that safety and technology features were important, as was reliability, fuel economy and low whole of life costs,” Penske New Zealand national sales manager trucks Dean Hoverd said.

"With sound leadership, TIL has experienced huge growth and it has been exciting to work closely with the team to plan their future fleet requirements and to watch them successfully grow their business.”Big Rigs.
