Chair Sue Suckling, Board Director Frances Valintine, Chief Executive Vic Crone, and General Manager Strategy, Impact and Insights Rosalie Nelson will all speak at the event.
Digital Nations 2030 is part of Digital 5 2018, the annual gathering of the world’s most advanced digital nations. This year it is being hosted by New Zealand.
Digital 5, or D5, was started in 2014 by leading digital governments with the shared goal of developing the digital economy. Its members are New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Israel, Estonia and South Korea.
As New Zealand’s innovation agency, Callaghan Innovation sees firsthand the need to embrace innovation and diversify the Kiwi economy, along with the consequences for our sectors if we don’t, Chief Executive Vic Crone says.
The world is undergoing the fourth Industrial Revolution, where the internet and software meets hardware, Vic says.
“This intersection between the world of data, designs and ideas, and the physical world of materials, machines and living things is transforming global economies creating major new opportunities and significant challenges along the way.
“Our role is to support the change and interconnectedness required for New Zealand businesses to thrive in this new environment.
“In the spirit of International Women’s Day on March 8, we are proud that Callaghan Innovation’s wahine toa are at the forefront of this discussion,” she says.
The Callaghan Innovation executives will contribute to several sessions at Digital Nations:
