Jacinda Ardern will be attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, which "sets the agenda for the Commonwealth for the next two years", she said.
Ms Ardern said they will be talking about sustainable development, climate change, trade and security.
She will meet British PM Theresa May to talk about a bilateral Free Trade Agreement once the UK have left the European Union.
Before this Ms Ardern will meet French President Emmanuel Macron and PM Édouard Philippe in Paris, then will continue to Germany to see Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"As we all face numerous global challenges, it's important that we maintain strong relationships with those who share these values," Ms Ardern said.
"I am grateful for the strong support we have received from our EU friends in moving towards the launch of FTA negotiations with the EU, and I look forward to discussing this in further detail with President Macron and Chancellor Merkel," she said in a statement today.
New Zealand had previously been striving for a Free Trade Agreement with the EU.
Ms Ardern will visit Paris, Berlin and London from 16- 23 April. She will also stopover in Brisbane on 14 April to visit New Zealand athletes at the Commonwealth Games.
