Canterbury Tech, Christchurch, 4 April 2016 - Canterbury’s industry group for software companies, Canterbury Software, has broadened their community and rebranded to Canterbury Tech.
“Software, electronics, and communications are more intertwined than ever before. Smart phones, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT) and other areas have changed the tech landscape. We are broadening our membership base to include those tech companies who previously didn’t identify themselves as Software.“, Michael Trengrove, Chair, Canterbury Tech.
Canterbury Tech is an industry group providing monthly networking events and an annual summit, one of the largest tech conferences in New Zealand. Cluster members support each other with common matters including, exporting, attracting staff, growing from New Zealand, and others.
“We’re thrilled the Canterbury Software is re-positioning as Canterbury Tech. We think it better reflects the diversity within Canterbury’s tech industry diversity and depth and breadth of talent. It reinforces tech innovation in Canterbury is broader than Software.” Charlotte Walshe,CEO, Dynamic Controls.
As well as a new name for the organisation, their annual industry conference has rebranded to Canterbury Tech Summit. The Summit is being held on Thursday September 15th at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand at Wigram. www.techsummit.nz.
