The Educational Testing and Evaluating Agency (Etea), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, conducted the entry test, according to a statement issued here.
The test was simultaneously conducted in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Swat and DI Khan. In Peshawar, the test was conducted at two venues, including Islamia Collegiate Ground and Cricket Ground at the University of Peshawar.
A total of 15,691 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan appeared in the test. The results of the entry test will be announced on Monday (today) and available on Etea website (www.etea.edu.pk). The same will also be displayed on the UET’s main notice board.
Acting vice-chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Prof Iftikhar Hussain, on this occasion expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for the entry test. He said that due to a large number of students appearing for the test in Peshawar it was conducted at two places.
He thanked the campus police for providing foolproof security for the test.
At Peshawar centre, a total of 9,763 candidates appeared in the test with 9,382 candidates seeking admission to the engineering disciplines and 381 candidates for Computer Science group.
At Swat Centre, 2,644 candidates appeared in the test with 2,598 candidates for engineering disciplines and 46 for Computer Science group; at Abbottabad centre among 1,848 candidates 1,804 appeared for engineering group and 44 candidates for the Computer Science group; and at DI Khan centre of the total 1,436 candidates 1,397 appeared in test for engineering disciplines and 39 for Computer Science group. Altogether 570 female and 15,121 male candidates appeared in the test at all the centres.
All the entry gates of the UoP and ICU were closed for security reasons. A big contingent of police was deployed to ensure security, particularly at the gates.
